When God Speaks to You

Let me start off by saying that God only speaks to us through his word. The King James Bible is what the Holy Ghost uses and will continue to use. Many people today think that God is speaking to them when their conscience is speaking. A example of this would be, "God told me to move to Tennessee." "God told me to sell my house." "God told me to marry her". "God told me to play the piano." God is not speaking to any of these people because where do we read in the Bible God telling us to move to Tennessee? Where do we read in the Bible God telling us to sell our house? Where do we read in the Bible God telling us to marry someone? And where do we read in the Bible God telling us to play the piano?  Nowhere. Yet people say these things all the time.

The reason why people lie and tell you that God is telling them these random things is because they don't understand the Holy Spirit. The Bible has to be where we get our doctrine. So lets make sure that we base what we believe in on the Bible.

John 14:26 says, "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."

The Bible says that when Holy Ghost is in you, he is going to bring to remembrance all things that Jesus has told you. Now how can we bring to remembrance something we have never heard? Obviously we have to hear the words of Christ before we can remember them. And we have the Word of God today in our King James Bibles. Now Jesus wrote the entire Bible, not just the words in red. John 1:1 says,

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

Jesus Christ is the Word of God. Now the Word of God isn't just the words in red. The Word of God is the entire Bible; Genesis to Revelation. And the Bible teaches that God's Word became a man. And his name was Jesus Christ.

John 1:14 reads, "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."

Jesus said himself in John 5:39 "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me."

He said again in John 5:46, "For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me."

Jesus makes himself very clear that he is the entire Word of God, not just the four gospels. So the things that Jesus has spoken unto us are not only the things in red. They are the words from the Old Testament to the New Testament which is why the Bible says in 2 Timothy 3:16 that "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" Jesus spoke ALL the words of the Bible. And the only way to remember the things that he said to us, you have to READ the words of the entire Bible.

The Bible is what we need to be reading and hearing. Scripture from the Old and New Testaments are what the Holy Spirit uses to speak to us because they are Christ's words. That is what the Holy Ghost will bring to our remembrance, and the only way he can do that is if we read our Bible.

Have you ever been talking to someone or debating with someone, and a scripture just randomly pops up in your head? That's the Holy Ghost speaking to you. Whenever you memorize scripture, you give arsenal to the Holy Spirit because he has a load of things to say to you! This is why God's word is called a sword in Hebrews 4:12. God uses scripture to fight against principalities and demons. Jesus used the sword to combat Satan when he was tempted by him in the wilderness in Matthew chapter 4.

We see clearly that God speaks to us through his word. Now a lot of times, people mistake God speaking to them for God making opportunity for them. One person might take God providing him a job to "God told me to work here". Or God may provide one with a wife and he'll say "God told me to marry you". There is a complete difference.
A lot of times also, Satan is leading people. That's why when you see people living in sin, like adultery, they may say things like "God never wanted me to marry you" (to their spouse). They want to pretend that God wants something different for them so they lie and tell you that God spoke to them. God said "Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord" in Proverbs 18:22. If we let the Bible be our guide, then we wont need to lie on God.

If God is telling you to buy a car or join a club then we should get that written in scripture since that's God's word. I want to read all the words of God. Should we name the book after your name? Where was that verse this whole time if God promised to preserve it?

 Oh wait, you're just lying.
