My Inexpensive Workout

Men today are becoming weak both spiritually and physically. Not only is it because of change in the work environment, but also by how our culture depicts Christian men. In the media, Christian men are viewed as weak, effeminate, and timid. This is what happens when you make an idol (depiction) out of Christ and he looks like a queer hippie. Jesus didn't have long hair. The Bible forbids men having long hair and women having short hair in 1 Corinthians Chapter 11. We should let the Bible tell us who Jesus was and what he looked like. David was a picture of Jesus in the Old Testament and he had arms big enough to break steel (2 Samuel 22:35). Just as David was a man of war, Christ is a man of war. Just read Psalm Chapter 2, and Revelation 19. Jesus Christ is a man of war with an army of angels. Men of war don't look like girls.
There are many scriptures that show the might and strength of David, just read your Bible cover to cover. But I have decided to share my personal inexpensive workout that I will be integrating. After working out for about four months, I think it's time for a new regime. All you will need for this workout is a pull-up bar, and at least a 25lb dumbbell. Here it is.
  • 8 sets of 5 pull-ups
  • 3 sets of 20 push ups (Do 10 if you cant handle 20)
  • 3 sets of 12 bench dips
  • 4 sets of 10 sit ups with dumbbell
This is a simple workout that can be done three times a week. I personally always take Sunday as a rest day because of soul-winning and of course Church. Try to work in cardio between workout days. If you need to go to the store, walk or ride your bike. Jog early in the morning or afternoon. Or take up a sport. (anything besides golf). As you progress see if you can do more sets. And while you do your workout listen to preaching, or the Bible on audio, or meditate on a verse. Some good meditation verses would be:
  • 2 Samuel 22:35
  • 2 Thessalonians 3:10
  • 1 Corinthians 13;11
  • Philippians 4:13
  • Deuteronomy 31:6
  • 1 Corinthians 16:13
  • Joshua 1:9
  • Proverbs 28:1
  • Psalms 31:24
  • Proverbs 16:26
